Hmmm, the shout out was giving me a pretty good feeling as we entered Tuas immigration Checkpoint in Singapore. It was sort of shaky ride by bus but was worth it as my friend Shant and myself begin to breath in the island air.
We checked into Royal Peacock Hotel in Chinatown area. It was a budget boutique hotel with old Chinese furniture and paintings.
Then, we headed to Racecourse Road at Little India for early dinner. The food was excellent at Gayathri Restaurant and the price was reasonable. We walked along Buffalo Road and spotted a colorful old Chinese architecture house in an Indian vicinity.
The next day, we headed to Orchard Road. The place was busy and shopping was exciting.
We decided to have malay lunch at Nasi Padang Restaurant nearby our hotel.
Singaporeans are health conscious andmost of their cooking has less salts and sugar.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed the food. Later, we checked out and checked into Hotel G at Teck Lim Road. It's a simple and modern designed budget hotel.
It the night time, we took a cab to Clark Quay. Another popular spot for tourists and foreigners working in Singapore.
On the third day of our visit, again enjoyed another clean outing along Chinatown and nearby areas. We had our late brunch of banana leave rice in Serangoon's Sakuntala Restaurant. We went to a jewellery shop which boasted many designs of gold chains and bangles. Then, a visit to Mustafa Centre which operated around the clock.
It was tiring walk so we decided to taste the masala chai and ginger chai and savoured the 'pau bhaji' at Ananda Bhavan.
We rested awhile and walked to Boat Quay, near Raffles Place. We ate thai food and walked around the Singapore river while the breeze was blowing softly on our faces.
Next day being the last night out in Singapore city, we met up with my younger brother and ate dinner at Dempsey Hills. It was a beautiful dining area with many western, chinese, indian choice of food complete with a grocery shop and an ice cream parlour.
We left to Harbour Front to board Aeroline bus back to KL.
